On this boat and bike trip you cycle through two of the most charming river valleys in Europe:
The Rhine, whose breathtaking landscapes are full of history in the Palatinate and the Neckar, which flows through the idyllic Odenwald. In addition to nature, exciting cities like Heilbron, Mainz and Heidelberg await you on this trip.

Day 1: Tuesday
Arrival to Stuttgart in the early afternoon
The ship is already at Bad Cannstatt. You are able to check-in from 3 pm. Youll have time to unpack, get some rest or to explore the city. At 6 pm we welcome you on board with a welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 2: Wednesday
Stuttgart - Ludwigsburg, cycling tour approx. 15 mi (24 km) + 5mi (8km)
On our first cycling day we take it easy. Soon we’ll be outside the Stuttgart agglomeration following the lovely river Neckar downstream. In the beginning of the afternoon we’ll arrive at the pier Hohen-eck where the Quo Vadis is docked for the night. From there we can make an optional (5mi/8km) tour to Ludwigsburg, this will be an uphill bike ride but the effort of this journey will be rewarded with the beautiful castle and baroque gardens of Ludwigsburg.

Day 3: Thursday
Ludwigsburg- Lauffen - Heilbronn, cycling tour approx. 27 mi (43 km)
Proven vineyards and bright shell limestone are omnipresent in the landscape along the Neckar. And Marbach is not only the birthplace of Schiller, but also a really amazing country town with lovely corners, romantic streets, stairs and fountains. The route continues through Kirchheim, with the castle Liebenstein, and ends in Lauffen, Here are many medieval sights and even the foundations of a Roman estate can be found. We sail on to Heilbronn.

Day 4: Friday
Heilbronn - Bad Wimpfen - Eberbach, cycling tour approx. 30 mi (48 km)
During breakfast we travel by boat to Bad Wimpfen. This is where today's bike tour begins. During the morning we make a short and steep detour to Burg Hornberg. This castle is one of the most beautiful castles in the Neckar valley, after 1259 seat of the bishops of Speyer and in the 16th century owned Berlichingen. We continue our bike tour on the Neckar from here and reach our destination Eberbach in the late afternoon. A stroll through the winding streets and the small squares where you can enjoy the cheerful life of the old Staufer city.

Day 5: Saturday
Eberbach - Heidelberg, cycling tour approx. 24 mi (38 km)
Our first destination today is the castle town of Hirschhorn, the pearl of the Neckar valley. Worth seeing here are above all the castle Hirschhorn, the former Carmelite monastery as well as the market church. Our route continues through the southern part of the Odenwald to Neckarsteinach with its four castle ruins. Via Neckargemünd we continue our journey to our current destination Heidelberg, where our ship is already waiting for us. For the late afternoon, a city tour through Heidelberg and the visit of the castle is planned. Tonight you will have the opportunity to enjoy regional cuisine in one of the city's restaurants - at your own expense.

Day 6: Sunday
Heidelberg - Ladenburg - Worms, cycling tour approx. 25 mi (40 km)
During breakfast, the Quo Vadis goes to Ladenburg where our today's bike tour starts, the last part of the Neckar and then through a big forest till we meet the river Rhine.  We cross the Rhine to visit Worms with its well-known Nibelungentower directly above the Rhine and great history around the St. Peters Dom-church and Martin Luther.

Day 7: Monday
Worms - Nierstein, cycling tour approx. 25 mi (40 km)
In the morning we take more time to visit Worms before we start our cycling ride following the Rhine through the region Rheinhessen towards Nierstein. This village is known for the many ostrich farms and vineyards around it, including the oldest vineyard in Germany: Glöck. So here we find good possibilities to learn more about the great Rheinhessen wines.

Day 8: Tuesday
Nierstein - Mainz - Rüdesheim, cycling tour approx. 22 mi (36 km) (+ 5mi/8km)
The ship takes us to Mainz during breakfast. Here you cycle to the center of Mainz and enjoy the city, with the possibility to visit one of the many museums. Today you will cycle along the Rhine passing lovely villages like Eltville. We can to an optional detour (+5mi/8km bit uphill) to visit the Eberbach Abbey. In the afternoon you will reach the picturesque Rüdesheim. Do not miss the opportunity to take a stroll through the Drosselgasse, a cobblestone alley with many restored half-timbered houses in the heart of Rüdesheim's Old Town.

Day 9: Wednesday
Rüdesheim - Oberwesel - Koblenz, cycling tour approx. 19mi (30 km)
Your cycling tour takes you along the left bank of the Rhine, past towering castles, through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon you will meet the Quo Vadis again, which will continue with you (along the (in)famous bend in Rhine, the  Loreley) to Koblenz. This lively rebuild historic town at the confluence with the Moselle has cosy squares, plenty cafés, a castlegarden and the Deutsches Eck monument at the promenade; best enjoyed during an evening walk.

Day 10: Thursday
Koblenz - Winningen - Cochem, cycling tour approx. 26 / 31 mi (41 / 50 km)
Today we have a nice ride on the banks of the Moselle along sloping winefields and hilltop castles; passing charming halftimbered villages and small historic towns, picturesque decorated with vines and geraniums. You shouldnt miss the charming Kobern townsquare, the garden of Schloss Liebieg, the vast Von der Leyen castle extended over the road, the Hatzenpfort ferrytower or the fine romanesque church of Karden. At Klotten one could take a ferry to have a more quiet approach to Cochem, where we find the Quo Vadis again. This is a charming small historic town with lively streets and terraces; and a nice castle high up. When you arrive about 3.30 pm. you can find a shuttle to bring you up for a visit.

Day 11: Friday, Departure in Cochem
Departure is after breakfast, till 09:30.
